Lens Warranty

So I bought my D5200 kit an 55-300 at the end of Jan. 2015. Lately the 18-55 has been having trouble focusing. It will either search a lot or not try to focus at all (in conditions when it should). It also makes a loud whine/squeal and an occasional rough sound when focusing too.

I registered my camera and lenses so that shouldn't be an issue (see screenshot below). I am just wondering what experiences you guys have had and how to go about this (never warrantied something like this before, I assume its free?)

*Not sure why it shows (2) 55-300's but it won't let me delete one. <-- Fixed it

I have a similar problem with my 16-85. I diagnosed it to fault in the VR. With VR off it is fine. With VR on it hunts, shakes and makes life miserable.

You're pretty funny. What is the oldest Canon lens you are currently using? I have pro glass pushing 40 years old and I expect those lens to keep on kicking long after I'm dead.

Assuming the information is accurate that I found somewhere, to date my old lenses by their serial numbers, is accurate; other than the lens that came with my D3200, the newest of the other lenses that I use with it was made in 1975, making it forty years old this year. Another was made in 1972, and the Vivitar, I can only nail down to 1969-1973.
