Strange issue with D50 and 18-105 VR

Hi guys, first post but not new to Nikon's. I owned a D40X for a few years before I had to sell it because of college expenses, and now I just recently bought a D50 body and found a sweet deal on a used 18-105 VR lens. I received both today and upon installing the lens it doesn't seem to be secure at all. I've installed/removed lenses various times on my D40X but I've never had this issue. Once I line it the indicator dots, I twist it counter clockwise and it clicks like normal but the lens is loose at the base and can be wiggled, even pulled away with little effort. Here's a few pics:

I've tried installing it from different angles and working out all the possibilities but can't seem to figure it out. If anyone has any ideas they'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

I think the Mount is wornout, made of Plastic the 18-105mm. Happened to me also, I have to hold the lens during shooting.

Looks like you were right. I failed to notice that the listing mentioned broken tabs on the lens mount. He included the new piece and I just now replaced it and it fits perfectly. I figured that was the issue.
