Just got an AW120 today. I've always wanted a camera that I can shoot under water and on the beach and not worry. Looks fun and impel, new f2.8 lens. Any experiences with the AW series?

My son has one and it is still going after him having it over one year. It's been used in torrential downpours and underwater, without a problem, except that he doesn't have a spare battery. He really needs two spares since he often uses it for a week without access to an outlet for charging.

Rick, I've always worried about my good cameras when at beach , pool etc. I snapped few pics out the window. Not bad for tiny sensor. Super simple modes.

Same here, went to a water park last year and it was either get pictures or go on rides. I brought my P&S, but still couldn't do much ride wise.

Nice, but, like you've said: "...tiny sensor", which is exactly why I gave up the idea. Instead (after few years of hesitation and delay), I finally ordered one of these (~20$):

Not sure I trust my expensive DSLR in what amounts to a $20 ziplock bag though. How well does it work. Have you had your camera submerged, or do you just use it to protect against splashes and such?

I have just ordered it (today, Friday, March 07) and expect it to arrive tomorrow. Although it's declared as "water resistant up (or should it be "down"?) to the depth of 20 m", I do not intend to use it for real underwater photographing - it'll protect my camera from rain, snow and dust, on the beach, while traveling etc.
