Wireless remote flash trigger recommendations

I have an SB-5000 Speedlight paired to the WR-R11b remote. It works fine, but I'm not really too 'enthusiastic' about having the remote sticking out from the camera, attached by the small 10 pin connector. I've accidently hit it with my hand several times and am beginning to wonder how long it will take to damage the socket in the camera.
Can anyone recommend a wireless remote that mounts on the hot shoe that will work with both the Z5 and the SB-5000?
Thanks!

You will need some type of remote as well as a matching receiver (to place beneath the flash unit).

Cactus was a brand that was popular here on Nikonites many years ago. No clue whether those are still available. Personally I have a Vello remote and flash trigger (they also make one that is a shutter only remote so not for flash). Vello is the store brand for B&H Camera in New York.

I'd suggest sticking to some type of remote/trigger that uses a radio transmitter. Radio transmitters don't require line of sight like IR transmitters require. So radio triggers are more reliable.
