Which lens should I buy next?

I currently have the 18-55mm and 55-200mm vr kit lenses, and I am wondering what lens should I get next? Been into photography for almost a year now, and I really am into street photography/photojournalism.
But techincally I love to shoot anything under the sun that catches my interest.

Any recommendations on what lens should I buy next?

P.S I am in a tight budget, and hoping for a lens thats not too pricey.

The lens I get the most use out of is my Nikon 18-105mm. It's a "Jack of all Trades Master at None" sort of lens. I suggest it because it's just super versatile. Other lenses you should probably consider are the 35mm f/1.8G or the 50mm f/1.8G. The latter two are less expensive and both are exceptionally sharp and fast.

The 35mm/1.8G

Its a great lens and I love mine. Although lately I have been using my Fujifilm X100 a bit more than shooting with the 35mm

Exactly what HF said. The 18-105 is also a kit lens, but you will find it more handy and versatile than your 18-55. Its just a very nice range for a lot of things. Yes, it overlaps your 55-200, but it is very convenient. If you really don't think you need that, the 35 or 50 is nice. They both are smaller lenses, so along with the d3100, you have a very easy to carry setup.

I would say go for a prime if you can as you have capable lenses already to cover the kind of photogrpahy you're currently doing.
On a budget, go for the 35mm or 50mm f/1.8G (I have the later) and either of them will do you proud.

If you're after another zoom, then again at around the same price as the primes above you can pick up an 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G, which gives you a slightly better reach for day to day use than your 18-55mm.
As already mentioned, it overlaps your 55-200mm a bit more than you might like, but to be sure of what that actually means to you, just look at how many pictures you have taken with that lens in the 55-105mm region, and then above the 105mm mark. That should help determine whether the 18-105 is a good fit for your needs or not.

There is also the major factor of, what exactly is your tight budget??
There are deals to be had in the used market if you're willing to hunt around.

Not sure which camera you're using but here's a link for folks using a 18-105mm with a d3100. You can change the search value to suit your needs, but as you can see, people are shooting great photos with the 18-105mm.

I really like my Nikkor 35mm f2 d, which if you're using a crop sensor camera, it has a similar angle of view of a 50mm FX lens plus it will still work for me if later I decide to upgrade to a Nikon FX camera.

Sorry I forgot to mention that my camera is a D3100.
Initially I planned to sell my 18-55 and upgrade to 18-105 but having second thoughts as it overlaps my 55-200. So I also considered getting a 50mm lens instead.

35mm 1.8 DX is the lens you should buy. It will cover you under most low light situations and is real nice and sharp.
