Where can I get spare-parts ("AF sensor flex") for Nikon D300S

Hi Everyone

Appreciate anyone who can advise where I can spare-parts for Nikon D300S; particularly the "AF sensor flex".

I have not used my D300S for a number of years, and when I tried to turn it on recently, it would not turn-on .

It was sent to the only Nikon Repairer in Perth only to be told that Nikon does not provide any spare parts for D300S.

Surely a Professional Camera around 15 years old should be able to be repaired?

Regards,
Arnold...

In the US there are independent repair places that can sometimes find the parts and will fix older cameras. Maybe there are similar shops down under? You could look for a used D300S to use for parts, as well, although you might as well use the newly acquired camera in that case. :) Frustrating, but things become obsolete very quickly in our high tech world.

Looking on MPB here in the states, I see a couple parts bodies listed for $40 and $65 respectively. They also have a working model in "good" condition for $175.

Not sure what's available where you are. I know that international shipping can be a real deal killer.

Perhaps this might be a good opportunity for an upgrade. The cameras have come a long way in the last 15 years.

Thank you Woody - that's what I was worried about :-(

Thanks for the suggestion Clovishound, do you have a URL for MPB? I could check those out ;-)
I have already upgraded to the Mirror-less Z7, but felt such a shame to "waste" such a good camera :-(

MPB.com

It's one of the popular used camera vendors. Not sure if they would ship to Australia, or if it would be economically feasible to do so. Perhaps there is an equivalent available in your area.
