Setup I've been dying for Nikon to make for over a decade - in-hand!

True pancake with AF. 2.8 is fine. Lack of aperture ring is also fine. And a non-useless field of view of <30mm - FANTASTIC! And to boot, this thing can seriously close-focus for well-beyond my daily needs. And all of that strapped to a robust, and comparatively to even Fuji, still slim Zf body.

Glad to know your expectations have been matched. Mine include Z-mount tilt-shift lenses which, I am afraid, are not just around the corner... 😧

TS being, TS, its not like native ones would reduce the overall profile vs just adapting old gold.

Well, being able to dispense with the FTZ II adapters would already be a big improvement, trust me! Three tilt-shifts with three adapters in a Peak Design backpack take up quite some space! Plus, there is talk that Z-mount tilt-shifts could possibly have autofocus (although I imagine the engineering nightmare), and that would also be a big time-saver for me. I don’t complain about the IQ of the F-mount lenses, they are gorgeous and tack-sharp and color-perfect, but there is definitely lots of room for improvement in the chromatic aberration area, not to mention resistance to flare.

Toshi, are you listening, man? We wants tilt-shifts! Come take our money! :geek: 🤩

Brother, hold up, WHAT? FTZ's aren't lens caps, why in all hell would you need more than one...???

Yeah, well, like everyone else I began with one, and because when I’m shooting I alternate with Z-mounts, it soon became obvious that having an adapter set for life on each F-mount would make things more fluid. Before, I always found myself with the adapter still on the camera as I was about to clamp a Z-mount on it, or else not knowing where the hell I had stowed the adapter when I needed to use an F-mount... and not enough hands and lens caps to manage all that. Simpler with three adapters, really. No need to engage the brain more often than strictly necessary. I wouldn’t have gone that way with the original FTZs that were quite bulky, but the Model II is much more streamlined.

I meaaaaan, you go out to a job - typically takes 1 lens, you get that on, and mop things up. Then next job, next lens if even.

A thread had never confused me more than this one, but since I don't have a mirrorless Nikon, I guess it doesn't matter. 🤷‍♀️
Agreed, some contributors are harder to understand than others. I guess this is basically about the OP being happy that Nikon released a pancake lens that they will use on their Zf. :)

And you have NO idea how much! Again, lived and loved 45AI-P, but good god did I wish it had AF, just like 20/1.8 had VR on the Df.... Hahahahaha
