SB-700 Speedlight - Z5 Controls?

Does the SB-700 on a Z5 allow for rear-curtain sync to be controlled via the camera's menu, or through the speedlight itself?

My last experience with on-camera flash was with an N90s and SB-24. šŸ˜‚

I am open to the idea of a Yongnuo flash. I don't need tons of power, just enough for rear-curtain sync for moving objects.

Thanks.

Page 566 of the Z5 Reference Manual (the big 25MB manual) has the key information. It lists the flash units that can be controlled by camera menu, all others must be set by controls on flash. My SB-400 which has no control panel is controlled through the camera, but my SB-600 must be controlled by the clunky flash panel. And the SB-700 is the successor to that unit, also not listed as controlled.

The SB-700 manual page E-32 states the rear-curtain sync can not be set on the flash. Does this mean that the SB-700 won't have rear-curtain on the Z5?

There is a Flash Mode and a Flash Control Mode shooting menu items. As I reread page 569 of Reference Manual, looks like Flash Mode menu is available for all, and that is where rear-curtain mode is selected. Of course you must be in a mode where you manually select shutter speed to work.

It is the Flash Control Mode that is only supported by flash units with "unified control" feature. That is where manual adjustment of flash power settings is, and some other things.
