Great shots! What bug is this? Are the ants on it a common sight? I thought it was dead or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. It's a tarantula wasp, a favorite of mine. Mohave reed milkweed is one of its main food sources, which is also a favorite with aphids and so, ants. It did not seem bothered at all by the them crawling about and biting; it just kept feeding. Given the potency of its sting, I'm real glad it didn't mind me, either.

A few weeks ago, I was given a broken 18-105 Nikon lens. The mount was broken. I had no idea what to do with it until last week. I bought a 67mm reverse macro ring for it...

This is the best out of my "out of package testing"...D7100, homemade lightbox, and I didn't realize I was in 18-12 crop mode...
