Ha ha! Call me Machiavelli: my devious scheme worked a charm! I already had one Peak split ring assembly that had come with a Cuff, and I managed to procure a second one from a local Nikon dealer in Lyon. I have a man there and he thought he might have seen an extra one lying around the store somewhere... He found it and gave it to me for free, so now my Z7 II is fully outfitted with the newest (v3?) kind of Anchor links.
And I may also receive some courtesy ones directly from Peak at some point in August...
So, I have removed the older (v2?) Anchors which, after 3 years of service on my Z7 and 2½ years on my Z7 II, were only very slightly frayed and didn’t show any part of their yellow outer core.
I like Peak Design products, they’re good quality, very functional and generally good-looking, too, although for me the most stylish (and most comfortable) shoulder straps remain the German-made elk hide ones by Eddycam (
their website is here). I have two, a narrow one shown below on the Z7 in 2018, and a wider one shown on the D850 (photo from 2019):
I swear, we photographers with our straps and bags, we’re worse than the ladies with their purses!
