This shot could have been so much better, but the shooting conditions were brutal! The sun was setting behind me which would have made for a great photo. However, here in the Rockies we suffer from inversion where pollution gets trapped down on the lower levels of our atmosphere. This throws colors for an absolute loop. The inversion is a hideous brown. Then the sun set casting its colors... add to it the red purple of the inversion where the sun is shining through it. Above the inversion is clear air that has a different color set. In total I had to deal with three color sets clashing. And normally I would not have posted this image because of the color issues, but I so loved the composition of the soldier on his hike with the mountains in the distance.
