Just unboxed a new 18 x 140 lens and was somewhat disappointed. No hood and no case. Yes is a golden box not white. Marked on box these items are optional...

Interesting... I just quickly checked a 1/2 dozen major dealers, and that lens only comes with a lens cap and a rear cap...

Why is that did they say why no hood or case?
Was also thinking about getting that Lens.

No explanation other than marked on box that the items are optional. Uses HB-32 hood. Would recommend ordering with lens to save on postage. I just ordered one and needed nothing else. Cost almost as much postage as the item cost.

Not surprised about the lack of a case, common on the consumer grade lenses now. The hood omission is just cheap! But I guess since I never use them it wouldn't bother me. Let us know how the lens performs!
