Nik collection

I'm currently using Lightroom 6 with much satisfaction and pleasure but occasionally I feel the need to do more to a photo. I have read a lot of good things about the Nik collection but I'm not sure I would use all the components??

Those of you that use the collection, what would you say are the most used components and, if buying unit by unit, what priority would you allocate to each?

I use Color FX Pro the most, followed by Silver FX Pro for Black and whites.

I use Dfine and Color Efex on almost every shot. This is followed closely by Viveza. Silver Efex is my B&W jumping off point for probably 95% of the B&W that I do. HDR Efex and Analog Efex don't really do much for me.

All that being said, I wouldn't give up NIK for both love AND money. NIK Tool's "Control Point" technology, all by itself, is an absolute GAME CHANGER when it comes to processing.
....

I use the sharpness controls, Vivesa and Define. You would have a fight on your hands if you tried to take Nik away from me. And I really have to agree with Fishy boy above "NIK Tool's "Control Point" technology, all by itself, is an absolute GAME CHANGER when it comes to processing.'

I found it a little hard to use in LightRoom but I do most of the heavy lifting in Photoshop anyway. I use LR like Adobe Camera RAW anyway since I was a long time Photoshop user before I got into LR recently.

Yes that is why I bit the bullet and bought it.

I use the sharpening tools, DFine, ColourFX, SilverFX... All of it really! I don't think the modules are available separately are they, I thought it was just an entire suite?

I mostly use Color Efex. Apart from that, Sharpener, Viveza, Define and Silver Efex. Occasionally, HDR Efex and Analog Efex.

Essentially, all of them.

.
They are not available separately. I think they were before Google bought it, but not anymore.

I got Nik last year when I purchased a year's membership to Kelbyone during their Thanksgiving sale, got the entire collection free, all for $169.

I mostly use it for black and white pics.

I use Dfine very often, often Color Efex and Silver Efex. Viveza i sometimes use it when LR is to tricky to get the color I want

So while we are all discussing Nik......

I was very disappointed to find after upgrading to PS CC 2015, Nik no longer works. Apparently it will need an upgrade and from what I can see it hasn't happened yet :(

What you probably need to do is go to the NIK Tools download page and re-download the free Trial version. When you install, the software will recognize you have a license and it will correctly install the full version in the proper folder for PS CC 2015.

Doesn't work. I tried re-installing and it tells me to close PS, even tho it isn't open, so it seems there is something in the way PS 2015 works that prevents it installing.
