A wise man i know once said;

the best camera is the one on your hand

It is just one simple sentence and it changes me a lot about photography. Capturing a great photo is not about how expensive your gears or how high tech your epuipments are. It is about you, your hand-eye coordination and using the best of what you had at the moment and come out best of it.

That's how brilliant photos captured. You don't have to be a gearhead just to show off your high end gears, confirmed that they will come out great pictures. Your gears ain't guarantee an awesome result, instead, your skill and experience are crucial.

Your gears just help you to get a good picture. It is just a tool anyway.

Agree to a degree. I've taken lots of nice ideas with a crappy phone and at the end of the day, they're not really good for anything than a quick glimpse of what that idea or moment was.

I'd apply that to say, having a d3100 and 35 1.8G lens over d3 and say a 35 1.4G or something similar, but never to say having a cellphone vs even a decent pos camera.

My photography creed- bring the camera everywhere and then think whether to use it or not.
