Well, I am now the owner of a pair of D600's. I read a FS ad on another camera forum and it would seem that there is more than 1 great place for Nikon lovers on the net, because not only was it the right price, after trading emails with him he offered to send it to me on approval, with no money up front required. What I got for not a lot was a D600 with 3600 clicks, genuine Nikon MB-D14 grip, all accessories, 2 batteries and even two 32GB cards. I also couldn't pass up a spare 18-105mm for my D7100 since the other lives on the IR camera.
The D600 is now on its way to Nikon to have the shutter work done (if I wind up with a D610 on this one it'll be the most amazing deal ever).
I've also realized that the grip is something I need now that I'm doing more street work. I can't tell you how many times I've almost elbowed someone in the head as I rotate the camera.
So, what am I gonna do with all this equipment? The D800 is going up for sale (or trade). I love my wife, and when I told her what I was going to do she said, "If you think you'll need the D800 then don't get rid of it", but the truth is that what I get for it will go in a fund for future equipment (or a down payment on a D4s someday). Unless I trade it for something - who knows? It's a great camera, but it's more than I need resolution-wise on an FX, and the fps isn't high enough to justify using it for wildlife, and the D7100 fixed that.
So, if you're thinking about a D800, ping me.
