Hello,

Now I'm in no way saying that my photography is good, but my friend wants to buy some prints of my work for her house. I'm totally new to this and was looking for some guidance.

She picked out three photos but I told her to start off with one and give me the specifications for it so I can get an idea of cost and how to do it in general.

How should I go about this? I don't want to just order some prints somewhere and it turn out really bad. Anything I should know? Where should I get them?

She picked this one in 24"x30".....

Yes..And great quality...I normally order a matte vs glossy...They always have deals to..Coupons on a regular basis..Make sure you are exporting your pics to Flickr at 240-300 dpi

This is why I asked. I would not have known that they should be exported to flickr at 240-300 dpi. Thanks for that! Anything else I should know?

Before you order the big prints you might order a small 8x10 or 8x12 to make sure the light and dark as well as the color is dialed in. Sometimes a little tweaking is necessary.

Nice images.

Just click on which pic from flickr... Look for the ...Click on that and choose order prints..
A one time set-up acct is required which will be linked to your Flickr via Snapfish..You will be all set to order..If this is a client, you can mark up prices as you see fit..Good Luck.. By the way...What MP camera are you shooting? 24x30 will need a 16mp or higher to look really good..And of course export at 300 dpi...

I'm using a D5200 so it should be fine with it's 24 mp.

I sort of say this sheepishly, but I've actually got some good prints from Wal Mart. There are two real advantages to this. The first is you get them the same day. If you are in a real hurry you can get them printed right away or if you want to save a little you get them printed within the hour.

The second advantage is, once you look at them if you don't like it they will either not charge you for it or will re-do it. Now to be fair I've found this out because they printing the picture in the wrong direction which should have been pretty basic but all the same they fixed it right then.

Around Christmas time they had 1 hour 8X10's for $2.00. I had a few printed off then and they did a good enough job that I did sell a couple. They can print on different formats and all sorts of sizes.
