HDD cloning

What is the best, easiest way to clone a hard drive. My laptop drive is basically full (500gb, whs was i thinking when i bought it) and I picked a 1 tb WD to swap out. Thanks.

Make sure when you restore the clone to your new drive, that you set it too use the whole drive (Should be an option somewhere) otherwise it will restore the 500Gb image, and leave you with 500GB of free unused space. Depending on what operating system you run that could leave you with 2 partitions on one drive.
