Absolute cheat to get these guys at a show, but at the same time - 15 minutes out for guaranteed awesome shots - you just don't say no to!

My nature photography club had an outing to a local raptor rescue facility last month. We spent several hours photographing a variety of different birds of prey, and were able to get shots I would never be able to get in the wild. I make no apologies for shooting like this as long as I don't try and pass them off as having been taken in the wild. It's also a great opportunity to try out a new camera.

Agreed, though wild is forever THE real goal! I know several heron and egret spots, but those are no raptors!
