First attempt of lightning photography, Nikon D3400 kit lens tripod, yes I know I moved the camera a bit but I don’t think it subtracts from the image, I promise the next attempt will be better 😆👍

It's not an easy thing to do. I've attempted lighting a couple times over the years. I think it takes a lot of time and chasing storms to get the spectacular shots.

Some people use a lightning trigger that actuates the shutter.
Last time I tried, I used a timer and 🤞 🙏 in hopes I would get lightning during the long exposures. I got one in I don't know how many exposures, but the lightning was infrequent unlike the storms we used to get in Texas and in south La.
In order for me to see a good storm here, I would have to drive to the desert during monsoon season.

Those big Texas wall clouds were on my bucket list, but then we moved to where there is rarely a storm.
