Dirty sensor

I loaded up a memory card full of shots and found that I had dark spots on my shots, all in the same place!!
Horrified, I then set about cleaning all my lenses, front and back, only to find I still had the problem.
I read in a magazine that a dirty sensor could be the problem, so I bought one of those sticky sensor cleaners, and my problem are now over!!
Anyone ever tried these sensor cleaners??
