Well, not really but I thought it was a great title.

Sharing some pictures taken during our Japanese Bon Odori Festival. It was a fun and great event. Even the Americans participated and wore the kimonos. Who could ever resist not taking any pictures with this type of event. I brought two cameras with me. D800E with Zeiss 135mm f2 and later replaced it with the Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens. D7000 with Nikon 28mm f1.8G for group shots. Thanks for looking.

Very nice!!! Btw, who's the graying white guy photobombing your second image? ;) Is he just passing through or does he belong there?

Do you find that the lack of the filter on the D800E gives you much sharper images? I'm wondering if a D600E came out if it would be worth the upgrade.

I think it provides more acuity especially when combined with a very sharp lens, the details once you pixel peep is just incredible. This is great when taking pictures of babies or kids. Not so much with older people like us or if they have a lot of "imperfections" since it will show.

I've noticed this when I started doing more macro work. See link below.

And what is the scarf he's wearing--a guy in photo #4 is also wearing one as is a female musician playing a wind instrument further down the thread. Just trying to learn more about the culture! :)

Excellent photos as usual!

They are called Japanese towels that they've been giving away. It is still pretty warm during this time of the year.
