I have a d2x camera and im looking for some help in the community , im being told I can't tether , I was wanting to go wireless with a WT1 transmitter but im finding out it will be a software issue as its not available for myD2X or my MacBook . I have NXstudio for editing , NX tether I guess is not compatible , I know someone out there is doing what I want to do and if they could help I would appreciate so very much as it will help me set the camera up as im shooting and the learning curve will be a little easier for me , I have NXstudio ON MY MACBOOK that I am using now but would much rather see the pictures I take right away so I can make the necessary adjustments

You better get a name of who is tethering the D2X because all that I find online is that it is impossible with a model that old.

NX Tether can only use Z models, D780, and D6.

DigiCamControl will work with multiple brands and models, but even that can only go back to the D3X. Only with a wire cable with limited features also. Have to have at least a D4 for full functions.

The fundamental problem is that LiveView was not a feature of the D2X, did not become a feature until the D3. So the USB connector of the camera is for transferring photos.

Don’t have to have live view if you could transmit the photo from the back of the camera and see on a MacBook still transferring a photo like transferring photos anyhow ..just rather see them on the fly ,,all I was hoping for to see the pic larger and see the image quality..Even if I didn’t go wireless and hard wired my camera to the computer I would be fine with that if I had too

Well there we go, a misunderstanding about what tethering is. The classic meaning of tethered photography is where you control functions of the camera remotely from a computer, and you may or may not preview the photos on screen. I tend to do astrophotography by reviewing the test photos on screen, then I disable that after I have my settings dialed-in. I just let the photos save to memory card and transfer later.

What I do not know is if the D2X is able to function as a camera while having a live USB connection to a computer. If it does, then it would be a simple matter open the photo just saved and view on the computer if the camera is viewable as a mass-storage device from your Mac.

why would you control a camera from a computer, no fun in that , tethering is where you can view a picture on your computer then you can make the proper adjustments if needed to your camera , that's my understanding of it as ive been searching for what it is I want to do ,

That's just one aspect of tethering, others make more use of it's other functions. :)
