Can I record movies in a format other than .MOV?

So I just got my first DSLR, a NIKON D3500. I shot a video today and when I uploaded it to Instagram, only the video played back but it said there was no audio


I then had to convert the video using Nero Recode 2019 into MP4 and now when I uploaded the video to Instagram the audio was there.


This is going to be a hassle to constantly convert videos before uploading them. Isn't there a way to have the camera record in another format that's supported by Instagram?

It's the Codec that's not compatible. Instagram can render the MOV file but not the audio codec. Find a free MOV to MP4 converter and convert the files before uploading...

Upload the file to an editor, then save it as a format that can be uploaded.

You DO edit your videos, don't you?

You may also use a video converter like iDealshare VideoGo to convert the recorded video to any popular video format or audio format like mp4, avi, wmv, mov, mpg, mkv, apple process, mp3 etc
