I used to do some portrait work back in the film days. I normally shot in B&W, but this one seemed better in color. Model wasn't terribly cooperative, and absolutely wouldn't listen listen to my suggestions. She finally fell into a nice 3/4 pose, and I got the shot. Then it was gone and so was she. I wanted to go in tighter, but didn't want to lose the flower.
Seriously, when I saw this one on the back of the camera, all I could think was that this was a portrait shot. Between the pose and the lighting. I was using the on camera flash with homemade large diffuser hood. I was holding the camera in vertical mode, so the lighting was from the side, more like in a portrait setting than the more common flash from above with this type of shooting. I may have to consider a flash bracket in order to be able to get side lighting when shooting in horizontal mode. Just what I need, more junk on the camera while shooting, and in the bag when carrying.
