    What do you think . . . u

So, another year is almost upon us and I'm curious to know how your approach to photography has changed after participating in a project365. I did 2 years back to back (2011 and 2012) and didn't this year, 2013, so it gave me a chance to see if it made a difference. What I learned when I did...

    Nostalgia

Another rainy day today, so I took some time "decluttering" my computer desk. I came across some software (in a packaged CD) that I had forgotten I had and never reloaded to the new systems since the frequent upgrade. So I loaded the CD, the software installed without a hitch. I had the...

"Serious" Photographers . . . food for thought

Since we've been bemoaning the trajectory of "professional" photography in other threads, I though I'd post something that I consider a little more uplifting. Although not a fan of entering competitions (especially if they cost $$ lol), I do like a lot of what this judge says about entering...

    HDR Efex and Smart Filters

Just processed a couple of photos in HDR Efex. I love the features . . . can't believe I hadn't tried it before. I guess I was just too complacent in my workflow . . . didn't want to change it. First question: what is the advantage of using the "smart filter" feature? Below is what it looks...

    An Unlikely "Love Affair"

I'm trying to develop a fondness for subject matter I'm not usually drawn to. I shot this on the main drag in town . . . I found the color and the reflection intriguing. I keep coming back to this photo so obviously, there's something I like about it, but am not sure that it's earned its way...

Need Help from the "Gadget Gurus"

While I feel pretty comfortable with Nikon's CLS, I thought I'd pull out my pocketwizards and see what I was missing. I have the Pocketwizard Multimax and a Pocketwizard Plus II. I'm trying to figure out what exactly I can do with them (that I can't with the SB900's, SU-800 and D2x) I spent...
