So I needed another Hobby to spend money on :). Have always wanted to try kayaking and after the first outing I was sold. I'll post up my kayaking shots here, enjoying a new perspective on shooting. These first shots are with the V2 and 30-110 (70-300). Now that I'm a bit more steady, I'll bring...
I wonder if it might be beneficial to have a beginners questions forum. Seems like they pop up everywhere and it might be nice to have all the answers in the same spot as well for reference.
Thoughts?
Let's see what this lens can do! Post your better shots here (there is a separate thread for test shots). I'll start us off with "Daisies in the Dark" :).
I shot these for the company I work for. We are opening a new campus with 12 "cottages" which are actually Skilled Nursing Facilities (Nursing Homes). These will probably be used for brochures/marketing. They are all 3 exposure HDR's shot with the D600/ 18-35g.
One of my shots is featured in our local news weather calendar! Please vote for my shot under the February section. Voting only last for 3 days. Thanks for your help! Proceeds go to the local Children's Hospital.

Since I recently upgraded to the V2 from the J3 I thought I'd start a new thread. The V2 shares the same sensor as the J3, but adds a built in grip and EVF along with more external controls. The V2 was not on my shortlist, but I could not resist the deal at Henry's of Canada, almost half the...
I just ordered a MeFoto Backpacker, anyone have any experience with this brand? I like the fact that it is arca-swiss compatible, so my CarrySpeed bracket will fit right in without adding another plate. Mostly for my new V2 setup on it's way. Check out the link, love the titanium look! :)...
Great article on the V2 and 70-200 f4 combo using the F1 adapter. This inspired me to pick up the adapter as I have the 70-200 f4 and the V2 on the way. Pretty impressive!

Found this to be interesting since I guess the D800E would be the current benchmark for resolution in Fx. I was pleased to see two of my favorites, the 70-200 f4 and the 18-35g which is a fantastic value.

I've been looking at the new oly E-M10 body and think this would be the lens I'd get. None of the "kit" lenses are stellar and since this is small, it would be ideal. This video is pushing me in that direction, just waiting to see the pricing on the pro 2.8 40-150 (80-300 2.8).
Check this out...
First off, thank you to the Boss for allowing us a spot to discuss other brands!
I've been enjoying the Nikon 1 system and am considering the V3, but the ISO issue is a huge drawback. I've been investigating the new Olympus E-M10 and it looks like a spectacular little camera. The drawback to...
Over the years I've bought and sold too many lenses. Always in the quest for those must haves, be it IQ or functionality. Primes, of course, stand the test of time and deliver as expected most of the time (although Nikon has produced it's share of lemons). Zooms are a whole other story, some...
I've been birding with the J3 and the selections are limited. I like using the 9 point spread on my D600 and was wondering what the choices are on the V2. This may help me decide on the V3 if they follow the V2 options.
Thanks!
I think this will be one of the best Super-Zooms Nikon has ever made, if only they produced a body to match! The specs and build are pro and I think the price is reasonable for the quality. Remember on a Nikon 1 body this is the equivalent of a 189-810mm!

So much for the rolling them together theory! If it has the new sensor and the filter removed it would be an upgrade over the J3. Of course if it is overpriced..., the V3 is the one for me. I think it's worth about $499, will be interesting to see what they put it at.

Looking like a nice little package. At first glance, I was put off by the price. Upon further review, I think the kit with the new lens, EVF, grip and performance specs might not be unreasonable after all,
