    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

By now all of the Osprey have normally left Colorado and headed south. This juvenile is still in town, and his dad is still around, too. He was late fledging. I watched him try to dive and catch a fish a few times, and he missed each time. This is a skill he needs to learn before migrating...

This is World Animal Day. Another day I was unaware of until Facebook so informed me. Anyway, I choose to post a nice, big bull elk sticking his tongue out at some tourists.:)

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

One Snowy Egret wanted the pond all to itself, and chased the other around until it left. Comical to watch. I think the geese were even watching. :)

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

Elk rut is underway and this guy looks to be the biggest and baddest. He's bugling with rivals on either side of him, but they don't approach him. Maybe he has already won the battle. :)

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

On Monday I posted a picture of an adult male Red Crossbill. This is a juvenile, only weeks out of the nest.
