Not a good shot at all, and I had to crop a fair amount and upsize the file, but I've never gotten a Spotted Sandpiper in flight so I'm gonna' post it. :)

I had maybe a second between this bird unexpectedly taking off, me raising the camera, and my good ol' D500 and 500mm PF focusing perfectly. No way did I think I got the shot.

The one on the left is a Snowy Egret, and the one on the right is a Great Egret. I wonder how they came up with that name?
