    Weekly Challenge Dec. 30, 2015 - Jan. 6, 2016: Stacked/Stacking

I wasn't expecting to come up with anything for this, but my attention just now was drawn to these three hats, stacked on one another. The hat on the top is rather interesting; it's a baseball-style hat, with built-in lights. Below that, my hard hat. Below that, a fabric wide-brimmed hat.

    Post your vandalism image

My wife and I live in a very good apartment complex surrounded on all sides by bad neighborhood. The management of our apartment complex is fairly diligent about keeping the bad elements out, but they can only do so much. Bordering our complex is another complex, that my wife and I have...

Post your Clocks, Watches, and Timepieces.

I found this clock in a thrift store, some years ago, for a few dollars. Subsequent research has determined that it is an aircraft clock of Soviet origin, almost certainly from a military aircraft, and very likely from a MiG 29.

Random blurry images with manual 105 f/2.5 Nikkor-P on D3300

Yes, that appears to be what has happened. Easy mistake to make, losing track of who posted what. This raises another question. A “Nikkor-P” lens would be an old non-AI lens. (The “-P” is part of a designation system that was discontinued in 1974, a few years before AI came out.)...

Random blurry images with manual 105 f/2.5 Nikkor-P on D3300

The focusing screen that comes stock in lower-end Nikon DSLRs is pretty useless as far as manual focusing. I think Nikon assumes that the vast majority of those who have the lower-end models will never use manual-focus lenses on them, and the viewfinder is optimized to give the brightest...

Help me understand DOF a little better

Here's my latest take on the sort of thing @DonnieZ was trying to do. Somewhat different. My apartment has a bathroom off the bedroom, so I am shooting across the bed, into the bathroom, where my wife is in the tub. The cat got in the act, during part of the shoot. 50mm ƒ/1.4 lens on my...
