    Where to find Roseate Spoonbills

Thanks Marilynne! I am hoping that someone will know of a place where they nest. That should keep them there for awhile. Andy

    Where to find Roseate Spoonbills

Looking to find places in the Tampa-Clearwater-St. Pete area where I can find Roseate Spoonbills to watch and photograph. Any ideas would be very helpful. Any rookeries around that I might be able to get in to? Thanks in advance for any info that anyone can provide. Andy

    Items Greyed Out on Menu

You might want to go to the Foolography website and have a look at the Unleashed. It’s a very small device that plugs into the 10 pin port on the D500, and besides putting the GPS coordinates on the photos, it also lets you control many camera functions from your phone. AND………besides that, it...

Slightly out of depth with a d5000 to d500 move

One other thought. Do you have a tripod that you can use? If so, mount the camera on the tripod, put the camera in ”P”rogram mode, and take some pictures using the self timer feature to minimize camera shake. We’re just trying to find out if it’s the camera/lens, or your technique that’s causing...

Slightly out of depth with a d5000 to d500 move

I went from a D70 to a D7100 to a D500, and when I got the D500, I also got A book called “Mastering the D500” by Darrell Young, and it is loaded with information and explanations. I would advise getting either that one or one that’s similar. It’s proved quite helpful to me, and I reference it...

    Needa's Abysmal Attempts!

Live in Dunedin, and all we had was some pretty good wind and occasional downpours. The people in downtown Dunedin (near the water), however, have been left with a real mess to clean up. There are branches, palm leaves, furniture, appliances, and more, all sitting out by the street to be picked...

D500 still worth it in 2024?

Hey drummer! Good for you on getting the D500, and kudos for supporting a local business. Enjoy the heck out of it, and I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed! Andy

D500 still worth it in 2024?

Hey,Drummer! I went from a D7100 to a D500 a little over 2 years ago, and I find it to be an exceptional camera. I’m a career maintenance person and REALLY like mechanical things, so when I decided to upgrade, mirrorless was not on my radar. I wanted to stick with aps-c, and was...

    GPS

You might look into an Unleashed, by Foolography from Germany. It does GPS as well as being able to control the camera settings from your phone via an app. At $259.00, it might be a little more than you want to spend, but mine works as advertised. Solmeta also makes one. I had that one on my...

Advice on what to buy next

I would vote for the 750, as you already know it and are comfortable using it. Maybe the 780 if the button placement and menus are the same (or close to) the 750. The 850 is a different beast altogether, and if you need to be productive right out of the box, the 850 might require a steep...

    Flash control

I found this over on DPReview in their Nikon Pro DX forum The flash menu in the D500 is meant for their latest breed of wireless flashes. With anything else, including older Nikon branded flashes, there is an alternative method. Hit the "i" button, then hit the flash button, a manual flash...
