It may be spring, but it was cold enough a couple of mornings ago for this Great Blue Heron to walk on water

An Osprey having caught a fish, perhaps to feed youngsters in the nest. In the background a human riding a jet ski. Many homo sapiens have a pretty easy life. :)

I was happy to see this ol' girl on this nest. I didn't think this pair had returned to the location they were at last year. Same tree, different snag. Anyway, as you can see, she was thrilled to see me, too. :)

An owl nest I have followed for several seasons now, and they are back again. The old tree is falling apart, I hope we have a few more seasons to go.
