Probably the best explanation ever, well worth a viewing. The only thing it doesn't illustrate is the blades of the iris that give bokeh it's shape with light points. More blades gives a smoother edge to out of focus variations. Circle of Confusion Explained and Illustrated - YouTube

A filter would be a good idea but it doesn't have one (I opened mine up to check), just a flap valve. It would be easy to put a mini filter in the rear opening, just make sure it doesn't go in so far that it interferes with the flap valve.

Hi folks, I've given critique so it's only fair I let others critique my photos. 35mm f1.8 1/4000th Post processed for saturation and contrast. There was a clear blue sky so I framed the tractor higher up than normal. Now I'm thinking more blue sky and less sand would have been better...

The dog is jumping out of the picture, if you do a shot side on, or even slightly side on, I think the dog needs to jump into the picture. Kinda like this rough cut and paste. Even jumping into the picture, I'd rather see a portrait shot to give height to the image.

I'm also interested in macro photography at 1:1 or better but my route is to try using a reversed lens first. Much cheaper if I decide it's not really for me, only cost £9 and results are good.
