Thanks for posting the pic - is this a US model?

Sorry it's not working out for you.

I know that there is a waiting list, but your asking price is a pretty big premium over list. If it was closer to list, I might be interested.

No, it's not cheap.
Are they in stock in Australia?

The online store I looked at are saying this..

[*We are taking orders for delivery late June/July. We do not have an exact delivery date at this stage. We will advise you in due course: ]

If it was I, I would be waiting to see if they have problems before i bought one..

Our local Craig's List had some D800s for sale, and pretty expensive.
Some people bought 2-3 of them, knowing there would be a shortage, like there always is with new models. They figure they'll prey on the people that's anxious to get one, and charge them a premium for not having to wait, and make some big bucks, fast. To me, that's pretty low and playing dirty pool. I can see maybe charging an extra $50, or maybe even $100, for having to deal with it, and handling and storage of it until it sells. But an extra $750? It should be criminal, and fall under the price gouging law. But that's just me........

It is only CRIMINAL if you are dumb enough to pay it. D800's are shipping steadily form Nikon. The wait time is about 1 month in Toronto, right now.

Why would you buy a camera from a Nikon Scalper, seriously? If there is something wrong with it, what would you do? Nikon doesn't transfer warranty so what dance would you have to make to get it serviced under warranty?

For $3K, wait the month.

On the Toronto Craigslist, I have seen them start at $4000 and then drop in price because basically, they can sit on them! $3.6K seems to be the stop point, seriously, why would you buy a D800 from one of these guys?

Mystery to me.
