FB post about AD200 melting while stored with batteries
I just read this in a Facebook group. The owner said he used the flash then stored it in his bag in the garage for 3 days. When he went to get his gear, the flash was melted and also partially melting another flash that was near it in the bag. People responding said they've never had any trouble.
Has anyone heard of this happening?

Here is an article why Lithium-ion batteries may catch fire or overheat.

i have a feeling the unit was left on and something got into the contacts and shorted the battery creating a rapid discharge and overheating condition, but this is only a guess.
His last statement is key. REMOVE the BATTERY when not in use and put the protective cap over the contacts.hark Thanks/liked this post

That person should contact the company and let them know. They could have defective batteries as well.

The. Person followed up with an update. He said it was likely a short in the flash caused by a drop of the light. Still kind of shocking. Reinforces the the practice of storing lights without the battery installed..
