Can a Nikon SB600 be triggered by another camera.

I have a Nikon SB600 which I use with my D7K, but I'm wondering whether it's possible to use it as a slave with my Panasonic G2. If I raise the pop up flash on my Panasonic would the flash from it trigger my Nikon SB600? Sorry if this sounds a dumb question but I am just learning about off camera flash.

I don't believe so, I don't think the panasonic supports (is capable of) the same channels as nikon cls. There is more to it than just the flash.

You can always try it yourself just incase you get lucky but if you read your SB 600 manual, it list specific camera and flash that can use it as slave.

The SB600 can be use as a slave in CLS mode.
It doesn't have an optical sensor that can be used as a slave triggered by other flash.
But if you really want it to be triggered optically via flash from you Panasonic G2, you need to hook up an optical slave.

Thanks everyone. I have given it a try and it can't be triggered by the G2. I am considering getting a Yongnuo RF602 so that I can use it.

One more advantage to using a manual flash instead of a Nikon one.
