Godox AD200
Is there anyone out there using this flash unit?
I am interested in this for off camera flash with controller and with the bare bulb / reflector dish for group shots and dish diffuser for portraits.
I would appreciate any feedback from owner / users.

Yes - just got the AD200 as a Christmas gift so not a lot of time to use it. I have several other Godox flash units as listed in my signature.
I have just had one chance to get it out of the box and try it out.
It is an unusual design - comes with both a big bulb and more standard style flash interchangeable unit.
It is not designed to be camera mounted (although on the Godox user's Facebook page I follow there are several who have work-arounds to mount it on a camera - for me it is too big for a camera mount. Best I could imagine would be on a proper flash bracket on your camera.
I used it to light up the fish in this tank. I was amazed at how quickly it recycled. The reflector is just sitting on the unit - I do have the proper "S-Bracket" designed to hold the AD200 and any bowen accessory, but just found it too easy to slide the reflector over the flash and it just sat there.
And thought I'd go fisheye for fishies

I also got the X-Pro receiver for Christmas
This is a definite upgrade over the X-1 Trigger.
There are a few extra bells and whistles on the X-Pro and more capacity for even more groups, but they both would give control over multiple off camera flash unit - the X-Pro is just bigger and easier to work with.
It does not have the pass through hot shoe which may be a deal breaker if having a flash on the camera matters.
I did get a chance to use the X-Pro while on my Christmas vacation and I like it and would recommend it over the X-1, not that much of a price difference and is much easier to fiddle with the settings, especially if shooting manual and making adjustments on the fly.
Depending on your needs you may want to look at the AD-360 which is bigger and more powerful than the AD-200 but not as convenient. It has a bigger portable battery unit that connects via a cable. If shooting outside or you need more power the AD-360 may be an option. I have found that I rarely ever need that much light. On the upside, when toned down to 1/8 or less, recycle time is superfast. I used it to shoot a group of daycare workers on an outdoor play structure - dealing with the sun to their backs I was able to get the shot with the AD-360 in a parabolic umbrella diffuser (my favourite 'softbox').Iansky Thanks/liked this post

Thanks FKD, I am thinking of getting an AD200 kit that sells for around £359 here it comes with the flash / X1-Ts controller and other accessories so your images and feedback is very useful and I look forward to more images using the unit as you shoot and post them.
having looked at the X-Pro controller (£53 here in UK) I might just go for the flash with some accessories and add this trigger to it -

That kit would cover it. You will not be disappointed.
If you only have one or two Godox flashes to control the smaller X1 will do fine. The bigger one is just that much more convenient.
There is a receiver that looks very similar to the X1 (called Godox X1N-R) that will allow you to shoot most Nikon flashes (and others I've found too). So if you have other speedlights you can put them to work too.Iansky Thanks/liked this post

Now MY ear's have perked up... Could I use this this controller/trigger combination with my existing Yongnuo flashes?
If it matters TTL compatibility is of no concern to me since I don't TTL with off-camera flash.
I'd like to switch over to an all-Godox OCF system, and if I could use some of my Yongnuo flashes while I make that transition, that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!~ Paul

I'm not sure as I have no Yongnuo flashes to test. Tell me what your flash model(s) is and I'll ask on the Godox User's FB page if any are shooting with that combo. It is a pretty active group, someone somewhere knows.
So far the R1 has triggered everything I've thrown at it.
As for TTL - as long as the subject stays put M works great - but I've found that by putting two flashes shooting to the ceiling on TTL and shooting grandkids at play, I can pretty much light up any corner of the room they run to and get reasonably well exposed shots at faster shutter speed which is important with fast moving preschoolers, it has come in handy. But for more serious shots where the subject is posed - M gives you much more control.FKD Alberta Canada
