I purchased the Neewer VK750 II i-TTL Speedlite Flash and I was hoping to get it to work on my D810 remotely but so far I couldn't get it to work. I have my SB-910 flash on my D810 camera when the flash goes off, I was hoping that would trigger the Neewer VK750 to go off too but it's not. Any suggestion is much appreciated.

It should work very easily, VK750 in S1 mode and camera flash in Manual mode.
Or S2 mode and camera flash in TTL mode.

But Not with camera in commander mode, that's not the way it works (that would flash, but too early, before shutter opens, so the picture will never see it).

It is an optical trigger, pretty sensitive, but probably not without some exception if hidden out of sight of the camera. Best case is if the flash body is rotated so that the front red sensor on the VK750 is aimed back at the camera flash (not normally necessary however, in many cases). In S1 mode, the flash should trigger when you press the small Pilot test button on it. I'd test once with the camera, at only several feet (4 to 8 feet) from the remote flash, to make sure it in fact works, and then any remaining issue was probably due to being hidden from the camera, or extreme range, or similar.
