YN560III flash problems?

hi, I am new here. I shoot a D7200 and am trying to learn a bit about flash photography. I want to use the unit on my camera. I have just received a YN560III flash unit. The unit did flash when i got it but it is either bad or I have it all messed up because it will not flash now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome............:)..............I use a similar Yongnuo flash (YN565EX) with my D7200 with no problems at all, can you tell us your settings for both camera and flash ??

Flash mode is the key. It is very possible that the flash may or may not work on the hot shoe if it is in one of the slave modes (some flashes and slave modes do still work, some don't). So for use on the camera hot shoe, make sure it is NOT in a slave mode.
