Budget beauty dish

Hi All,

I know this is more suitable in the "latest purchases" thread, but I am so enthusiastic about this I thought Id make a separate post in the flashes section!

I was looking for a beauty dish but on a budget. On amazon I found this 17" diffusor but the thing cost more than 60 euro here in Austria. A little research and I found it is of chinese manufacture under the name ishoot. I bought one off the bay from the seller photoloving for 20 euro including shipping. 2 weeks later it was here!

Here some pics of the diffusor. More photos of it in use will follow!

so, just fired off a quick few shots with minimal PP in order to post something before the new years drinking starts. I dont have too much experience with this kind of lighting but it appears to shed a nice even and soft light.....more practice and research required though...

yes, the main lighting is from the ishoot diffusor, with absolute minimum ambient lighting. I first set the camera exposure to get very low level ambient, almost black, and then introduced the diffusor. as I say, this is quite new for me so ill have to practice some, but all in all I am impressed so far. for 20 euros i cant complain!

Have you got a link to these, I cant seem to find them ?

here a pic comparing the diffusor to an umbrella. Umbrella one side, diffusor the other. Unfortunately I used to different speedlight units so it was a bit tricky matching the output hence the slight difference in exposure between the two sides.
