Hello I just got my flash trigger Yongnuo rf-603 and have read the little manual, set the dip switches to match. It works my off camera flashes fine... but I cant get it to work as a wired trigger or wireless trigger set up for the shutter. I set it up just like it says, am I forgetting something . I have other cable releases and wireless remotes that work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I have much trouble with mine too. It works easily and great as a flash trigger, seems very reliable. But simply doesn't work as shutter trigger. Does work once now and then, always a surprise, much worse than unreliable, it has never been usable (as a shutter). I am suspecting the cable, but don't know.

What flash are you trying to get the RF-603 to work as a trigger? It is only compatible with some flashes, not all. Mine work fine with my YN560 III, but not my YN565EX. Go figure. :)

I was using a Nikon SB-800 with it, which works fine. It wakes it up from standby, etc.

But this problem is about using it as a camera shutter trigger, instead of a flash. I think it won't ever do both functions at the same time, but I have great trouble using just the camera shutter trigger.

It works great on the Nikon flash, and I just tried on on my YN-565EX again, and it works great there too. (the flash has to be in Manual mode of course).

Just not so great as a remote camera shutter.

I just tried another cable that I had and it worked . I found out that the one I received with my triggers only had 3 contact strips were it plugs into the camera. You need to have 4. So I ordered another cable from Amazon for $6. Thanks Wayne for your help.
