Hey, Guys! And greetings from Bulgaria!
I was searching aroung the web for a good forum where I can ask you something.
I really hope if you can give me some clue I'll appreciate it so much!
I bought Nikon Speedlight SB910 and I wanted to shoot some direct harsh light on a white wall portraits.
But when I turn the camera to portrait view the shadow goes really on the right of the model, which I don't like. There are many fashion photographers such as Terry Richardson for example who shoot portrait view and the shadows fall of directly behind the subject creating very thin line of contrast dark.
So I found during a behind the scene video a guy who makes such photos that used some gear for bringing the flash closer to the lens - directly above it so there are no angles for the shadows.
Here it is:

And I am not sure I know what are exactly those wires, one connects the speedlight to the camera and the other I don't know.
So can you give me some advise, what should I buy, what he uses?
I looked through ebay but I couldn't find anything. In Bulgaria there are no such things like that..
Thanks before hand!!

The concept is called a "flash bracket" (should be searchable), to hold the flash directly above the lens when rotated to either camera orientation. Usually slightly higher above camera. I have not seen one exactly as you showed, but here are several that are available here.

Brackets | B&H Photo Video

Normally a standard hot shoe extension cord is used (Nikon SC-28 cord). Or Commander/Remote will work too.

You need a flash bracket. Really Right Stuff makes a pretty nice one. The falsh bracket allows you to rotate the camera while maintaining the flash above the lense.

Thanks for the fast replies!
Yes, I thought of looking over the web for brackets but all I found was these long and all other types of brackets except those who are closer to the lens.. Do they have a spescific name those brackets?
I looked the link that WayneF gave me but among those many brackets I couldnt find a model like that..
And sorry for my english if it is awkward..

This is really one step better! Thank you, Skene, maybe it will make nice thin shadows, it's cheap so I can test it.
But what about connecting it to the camera, what cable do I need? Because the speedlight did not had one when I got it.
