You may also want to put some exif info on the photo, so that we know what you are trying out.

With this though, the couch arm rest is in focus, and her face is not.

Nice work! I like the mysterious lighting!

DoF can be tricky with portraits and people shots in general. I've found I get the best results with enough DoF to keep the ears in focus. By doing so, hair/ears/facial features remain sharp and I get the best separation. Let the separation and Oof elements begin behind the ears/hair. Just a thought for future experimentation.

Yep,first shot was @ F2.5....2nd was @1.8

When you have an awesome lens like the 85 1.8g, we tend to hold back on DoF for the excellent OoF elements/bokeh. The really hard part is finding the balance, because we really want to shoot at 1.8 :).

Some very good ones :) which kinds of flash are you using? I am trying to use my flash most days now, so I'll get it figured out..

I´m falling inlove with the Ice Light even more!!! I guess I´ll have to sell a kidney and get one... ;) Love the 1st and 4th images!
