Nikon FM2n + AFS Nikkor 35mm 1.8G Lens

not to my knowledge,, the G lens are missing the Aperature control,, you need the older afs lens that still have the aperature coupling.

^^^^^ That. Unless you're happy to shoot at F1.8 and only F1.8

My weapons of choice on my FM2n are the 50mm F/1.8 AF-D and the 85mm F/2 AI-S

G stands for gelded aka no aperture ring...they'll work but only wide open MF manual exposure. If you have a FM2n there are way better and more appropriate choices available.

You could probably mount it though I can't say for sure because I do not own any of the newer Nikkors, but as far as compatibility goes, it is like apples and oranges. The FM2 has no provision for autofocus, nor does it have any contacts for the camera to communicate with the lens. The FM2 uses the very common rotating ring around the lens mount with the AI prong. If you are looking for compatible lenses that will make the most of the camera's capabilities, you will need to look at the AI and AIS Nikkors and Series E lenses, which are outstanding lenses in nearly every sense of the word.
