Back button focus on n8008s

Does any one have an idea on setting up back button focus on a Nikon N8008s? It’s easy to do on an N80, I’ve got two of them set up that way, but I don’t see any way to change button functions on an N8008s. May be I’m just missing something.

I happen to have a non-functioning N8008s and it's operation manual.

The buttons cannot have the functions reassigned. Also the current sense of Back Button Focus is simply not a feature of the camera. It does have a Focus Lock button on the front side of the camera. But that requires you to actually push the shutter release half-way as you center your object of focus, then hold the Focus Lock button down as you recompose the image as you want and then push the shutter release fully to take the photo.

A true Back Button Focus eliminates the half-push of the shutter button to focus on a subject. The half-push sets exposure only.

Thanks for confirming my opinion, I’m glad I’ve got my N80s. They were easily set up for BBF. It was even easy on my N75. It doesn’t look like the N90 would lend itself to BBF either.

The N80 and N75 are a generation newer, designed about 9-10 years after the N8008s and N90. Makes sense if they don't have features like function buttons that can be reassigned, or even a BBF.

My first real camera was an Agfa Isoflex that my older brother brought back from Germany in 1957, what can I say, I’m old...
