I was startled, some time ago, to learn that cameras are no longer being made under the Minolta Brand. Back in the day, I always thought of Pentax and Minolta as being to Japanese cameras what Ford and Chevrolet were to American cars.

All I can do is recall most of the cameras in my past... My very first was a loaner from my dad (Mamiya? Not sure...) and, sadly, I couldn't tell you what happened to my Pentax K1000 or my Minolta XG-M...
....

That Pentax K1000 was cheap but it was a workhorse. I shot with a Olympus OM2 and later the OM2n which I still have. Had several others to like the Mamiya 645 that I used for the pro shooting I did. That was a sweet camera.

My parents had an XG-1 and an XG-7. I had the XG-7 for a LONG time as 'my' camera, until I bought my first Nikon. So you could say that's the camera I learned on. I returned the camera to my parents years ago but I don't know if they still have them (I still have my N65, though).

I've been considering the same thing you're doing, getting some film and just playing around. :)

Good stuff above :)

As I shoot slowly through this roll of film, a just love the feel of this camera. Part of why I find the Df so cool.

Yes, I keep looking at the back with each shot. I'm on frame 17 of 36 right now.

Two fiddy is more than one fiddy...

I just realized the other day (while reading a thread asking about them) that my 50mm lens is full frame, not DX. HMMMMMMMMMMM! :)

Well, I bought batteries for the N65 today, but it keeps giving me an error message when I try to load a roll of film or focus. I think it's dead - apparently these were known for weak shutters and other issues. :(
