Photo Uploads - Only One at a Time

I suddenly can only upload pictures with the ancient single photo at a time option from the dark ages of time. Javascript is enabled, as it always has been, but beginning a few days ago I can't get the regular picture file upload window. This is even if I choose the advanced option for a new post.

Using Safari on an iMac running Catalina.It was working fine with this set up until this recent problem.

@jdeg

There are a few people having this problem. Any suggestions/solutions?

Hope you're feeling better!

Did you click the lock in the URL? Check and see if Flash is enabled. If it isn't, you will only be able to post one image at a time. With Chrome, I have enable it every time. Firefox usually has it enabled all the time. That's one of the reasons why jdeg is working on a new platform. Eventually Flash will be gone for good, and this forum requires it.

Hi Cindy,

What I didn't realize is that in the last Safari update they removed support for Flash. Thanks for your post, which made me double check preferences in Safari. I suppose I might download a copy of Firefox, but I really prefer to have just one browser for everything. Ugh. :)

P.S. I just read that all major web browsers will discontinue Flash support, and Adobe is pulling the plug on Flash at the end of this year. That will keep a lot of Webmasters busy for a while. :)

Yes, that's exactly one of the major problems facing Nikonites. So I'm glad @jdeg is working on this!

Woody, are you also having issues with youtube videos?

I'm unable to get anything to load on youtube, and am beginning to think that an update to Safari is the issue.

Come to think of it, I was having problems with You Tube a few months ago. You Tube would only partially open and videos wouldn't play. I could fix it by reloading a time or two. I haven't had those problems for a while, though, even on my old laptop with a fairly old version of Safari. Still, an update to Safari would be worth a try, I would think.

I see your photo, Roy. Sorry you are experiencing so many issues - hang in there! Better days are ahead. :)

working super well for me now @hark followed the "flash" instructions and that seemed to clear everything for me, can post using the normal uploader and click 2 or 3 pics and it uploads them ok. Just waiting on my usual attachment bug to bite. :D

That's great, Roy! The Flash issue is huge for people such as yourself who upload multiple images in one post. At least jdeg knows he needs to find new software to run Nikonites - software that doesn't rely on Flash.

Yep...it's affecting me too on PC with Chrome. 1 photo at a time, after a few days of not at all :( At least I know it's not my system or user error now ;)

Did you click on the lock icon and choose to allow flash? Unfortunately on Chrome, it needs to be done every time you open the browser. :(
