Photo Upload -- Problems & questions

In the past, I have not had a problem uploading photos to my gallery (actually I did a while back but others were also, so I blew it off). Anyway today, I tried to use the Flash upload, only to get nowhere with multiple photos. Then I tried only one photo. Still no go. Then I cleared all cookies for Nikonites, rebooted and tried again. You guessed it, No go.


I then managed (I think) to upload them using the Standard method, but got a message that I have not seen before.


It looks like I am being censored. Ha! (That's OK, but I don't remember seeing this before.
@jdeg is this a result of the BOT invasion or am I just a bad boy? Ha!

I had the same problem .. I went in my 'Members Gallery' and uploaded one at a time ..

Every time i try to put a picture into my gallery it's been a real headache, don't know if it's me or my computer. Haven't found any instruction about exactly how to post pictures, just trying to learn as i go.

The one photo at a time is not working either as I stated in my original post. In the past I have just blown it off and uploaded straight to a post. To be able to post the same image in more than one thread, it is requested that you only upload the image one time (my gallery was my choice for the one time) and then reference it. This is in the spirit of saving server space. I have not had problems in the past, but now it seems to be a new problem wrinkle. Ha!

What browsers are all of you using? I use Chrome and have uploaded today with no problems.

I use FF and no Problem at all too

Google Chrome. Referring to the two messages I received, the first using Flash upload, it says I am not authorized to access the page. ????

The second message I received using the Standard upload system, states that a moderator has to approve them and then they will be posted (They haven't been posted yet. Ha!

I am thinking that my account must have been tagged for misbehavior. Ha!

I can load photos directly into my posts as is seen in my first post of this thread with the screen captures of the messages I have received.

There are no photos awaiting moderation. there are also no posts or threads from you awaiting moderation. I just checked. Also when a post is made that needs moderation the Moderators see it as a regular thread/post and it is flagged as "Awaiting Moderation"

Thanks [MENTION=6277]Don Kuykendall[/MENTION] for letting me know that. I guess the message I received was lying to me. Ha! (See second image in original post).

In the last few days I have had some other messages from the site concerning subscribing to a particular forum also. Database issues, etc. I am still thinking that my account may have an issue with it, but I really don't know. Ha! It seems like I am the only one having this problem. I am sure I will get this sorted out eventually.

I just tried with Windows Edge and IE 11 without success. Windows Edge did not give me an option for selecting files to upload. IE 11 said the file was in Que, but when I hit submit, I got a screen that said "Nothing to display". Also my login on that page seemed to disappear. The top banner had the Login blanks, now the Welcome cwgrizz ... even though the previous page had me logged in. Strange..................

have you try it at google chrome or ff?

Thanks for the suggestion and yes, I tried Google Chrome. I haven't tried FF. Google Chrome is where this thread started as it is the browser I use. I just tried the Edge and IE 11 (both of which I currently despise) to try to sort this out. I used to have FF years ago, but it got so slow that I switched to Chrome (uninstalled FF at that time) which works well in most cases.

What the messages look like is that you are not logged in at all. Go back to your regular browser (Chrome) Try logging out completely and then flush your cache. (Delete all your history) then log back in and try again.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72dpi

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

@Marilynne, thanks, but that is not my problem. I can do that (posting images directly into posts). I have not been able to post into "my gallery". I wanted to post into "my gallery" and then I would have the images available to post in different threads as desired and not have them on the Nikonites server multiple times (taking up valuable resources when not necessary). I could use Flikr or something also, but I really don't want to because I don't like the time it takes to load images on here when stored off site.

Don, Thanks. I have cleared "cookies" for nikonites numerous times and today I cleared Nikonites browsing history. I logged back in and still no go. It is strange that I can post pictures directly into threads, but not to "My Gallery".

OK, I saw the Chubby, but thought maybe you had seen me and got the name wrong. Ha!

If you already have a album then this is how i do it with Chrome

Click Gallery at the top of the page
Next line down click my images
You should see your albums listed,just above them you should see a button that says " +upload image" click that
Next page has a button saying "select files for upload" click that and you can then search your computer for the files,i always have them in the same folder and it goes straight to it
High light the files you intend to upload there is a limit i think about 24 and click open.
The files should now show on the upload page and start uploading
scroll down and select the albumn you want them in,it says select category
scroll further down and make sure the number of files to upload states enough,the default is 10 but it has a drop down menu

Then hit submit

This will take you to a page of thumbnails where you can enter details against each picture if you want
At the bottom of that page click process or submit i cant remember exactly what it says,thats it done

Its no help but i can never do it in firefox but chrome goes straight through it no problem,i only use the flash though
