about 50% of the time when i click on a thread with images it will not load. I get a little blue spinning circle "connecting" and this message in the lower left of the screen "waiting for images.nikonites.com... If i got back a page and click on the thread then it will load, pain in the _ss. Fix anyone? Thanks.

Seems to have started around two weeks ago -- opening the site or any posts with images requires a reload, both at home and here at the college where I have a 50m connection

i really nave not had that problem here. Do you have a fast connection for the internet? Run a speedtest on your connection and see what you get. Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

It has more to do with the Nikonite's server connectivity than the ISP at our end. If their site is under heavy use, there will be a lot of delay in getting images. I have seen same sluggishness on a lot of sites when they are under a heavy usage.

I have definitely noticed the slowdown on Nikonites pages loading from the UK as well. It started about two weeks ago.
I think more people a uploading large images and thats making the network work harder.

Its not just Nikonites that have this problem.
500px has a new look and now it is really slow to load pics even previews. Its not my end because other sites work fine.

All photos are re-sized when they are uploaded. That is why we always recommend that you re-size them before you upload them. You can then control the process rather than letting the software here do it. You can do a much better job.

Yes I know that, but ... some people are linking to other sites to host larger versions and then the larger photo has to come from the remote site before appearing on the page here at Nikonites. That does slow the page load down.

I think linking in general slows things down. Just one more step things have to go through.

Maybe if we post which threads are taking extra time to load, the issue will show itself. I will go back and see which ones I thought were just hanging there and report back.

They are slightly slower but even those two only take less than 2 seconds to fully load and all photos are loaded as soon as I start scrolling down. I am wondering it is a location problem. A bottleneck between this server and your location. Maybe my connection is not having to go through that same route.

The ones that are have problems please give your general location so we can see if there is anything to that idea.

I am in Alabama and have a 60mb down connection

This is a pretty good site to test speed from and also a great way to share results. I am having a slow day today but here are my results

Yeah, that's what I checked on just a while ago, ping was 50ms. Just ran again from a different server and it was 13mb down and 15mb up. This internet is through Verizon and their cell towers.

25mb down must be pretty close to immediate, cool beans.

Still get the interminable load times, but now this, randomly, on fresh pages and revisits. After several refreshes, the actual page will load. This is the only forum of the many I use that has such issues.

Oh goody. We now have a new, more complicated email of replies to our threads, which I can not see unless I enable a variety of remote content providers. Who the hell is tapatalk and why are they involved in simple update emails?
