It also appears to stuff up the automatic page reload when I do post a reply such that I have to always manually refresh the page after posting to see my own post...

Does this on 2 different Windows 7 64-bit computers with Google Chrome & running different security software (1 has TrendMicro and 1 McAfee). So clearly something with the website coding or a gremlin...
