Can you explain in detail what you're doing when this happens? What browser are you using? Does the same thing happen in another browser?

btw, you might want to check your flash and shockwave plugins and/or try another browser and see if that solves the problem.

It seems to be working fine for me now, I just have to remember to wait a bit before going on else where in the site??

You might also want to look at you anti-virus software. MacAfee drives me nuts!!! Usually when my browser is not working like it should, McAfee is doing something in the background. . .UGH!! I mean, how many "friggin" viruses are out there that McAfee has to upgrade daily?

Solutions to web browsing issues:

  • Use any browser except IE. Preferably Firefox.
  • Get a Mac.
  • Blame Al Gore, creator of the internet.
This has been a public service announcement brought you by people who hate Micro$oft.

I'm on this site daily and this is the first time I've had this happen: when I go to it, I get a windows message that explorer is shutting down, the screen blinks and then the tab recovers (???) Any ideas out there as to what's causing this? I always get suspicious when something doesn't work like it did yesterday . Thought I'd check here before I start "analyzing" my computer.

Best Regards

Helene, does this only happen with explorer? It could be a plugin, like flash or shockwave crashing.

Hi, jdeg, thanks for the quick response. Right after I posted this, I had "outlook" try to shut down, so I don't believe it's your site, and yes, this is windows explorer . . . I think I need to follow Anthony's advice (I might hold off with the hammer :)

So, I guess I'll dink around with this "wayward child" here and see why it's misbehaving . . . sigh

My default browser is Firefox 4.0 Beta 7, and it's been great since Mozilla upgraded it. Can hardly wait for the final Firefox upgrade. It just seems to be getting better and better.

Just to let everybody know, I used Spybot Search and Destroy to scan my drives and it found and fixed 86 "incidents" that were lurking in strange places on my computer. (What good is McAfee???) Issue has been resolved . . . sorry, jdeg. Next time I'll check my computer first before thinking it's the site :)

Jack, I think I'm going to give Firefox a try!

lol Bill. I agree. McAfee has got to be the worst security software there is. I use F-Secure myself, and it has never given me any problems in the 4 years I've been using it. And I wouldn't use Norton if it was free!

I use Mac mcafee free, don't got it, don't need it, virus production is promoted by microsoft so they can continue selling upgraded systems for rediculous amounts of money
